Reese, you are eleven months old!

Eleven months old... seriously, where does the time go?

By the time you read this you'll know your old mom pretty well & know that with your birthday party less than a month away, I'm busy planning, planning, planning! Your first birthday is going to be extremely bittersweet for me. I'm so happy you're growing up to be a happy, healthy little girl... but some days I just want to keep you a baby forever. Definitely something you'll understand when you're a mom someday!

You're turning into such a sweet (and laid back) little lady. Your dad and I commented earlier today about how you seriously couldn't get any sweeter! Usually all we have to do is pucker up & you immediately lean in for a kiss. And man, do you have some thick skin! Caroline has a terrible habit right now of stealing toys right out of your hands -- and you never get upset. You just move on to something else or try to steal it back!

Your little legs get stronger everyday -- right now you cruise along furniture with ease & occasionally let go. I've seen you stand up in the middle of a room (no assistance) twice and each time you look shocked & then fall right on your butt. You're getting there! If there's one thing I've learned as a mom it's not to rush these milestones. You'll walk in your own time. For now you can crawl around the house very quickly & are definitely keeping up with your big sister that way!

In the food department you are a fan of basically everything we've had you try! You currently love scrambled eggs, crackers, mashed potatoes, peas, Cheerios, Reese's Puffs cereal (not the healthiest, but we thought it was appropriate to get you a box!), carrots, avocado, toast, yogurt & you even indulged in some chocolate on your first Halloween!

Speaking of Halloween, your sister got to pick your costume this year! A few months ago she told us that she wanted to be Santa Claus and wanted you to be a reindeer. We thought it was a super cute idea, but figured she'd change her mind a million times before Halloween. Nope! Almost every house we trick or treated at commented on how cute the costumes were!

You have your one year check up next month, so I'll post your weight/length stats after that. But you're currently fitting in 12 month & 18 month clothes! Your closet is a pretty good mix of both sizes. You're still in size 3 diapers but I think you'll probably move up in the next month or so.

Here are some recent pictures... we love you, Reese Cup!

Reese, you are nine months old!

Reese Cup, I'm happy to report that you are officially mobile! In your last post I mentioned that you were "army crawling" all over the house. Well, that turned into full-fledged crawling when you turned 9-months-old. You are really fast, too! If you see something across the room that you want, you'll move those little arms and legs like crazy and get there in just a few short seconds. You are pulling up on furniture, toy boxes, anything that you can -- you're just a little apprehensive to let go & try to stand at this point.

You went to the pediatrician a couple weeks ago & she said you are absolutely perfect! She was very happy with your growth, development and sweet personality. You weighed in at 19 pounds, 9 ounces & were 28.5" long. The nurse actually called you "tall"... something your daddy and I never thought we would hear about one of our children! ;)

You are old enough to actually play with your big sister now & it's so much fun to watch you guys together. I think your favorite thing to do is crawl to Caroline's room and get into all the toys she's left on the floor (which is usually a good amount)!

We still haven't heard a first word from you. You constantly babble about "mama" and "dada", and once we heard you repeat the word "cookie" -- but nothing solid yet. I'm waiting for the day you reach for one of us and say it -- or say it as one of us walks in the room. That will be so special!

You still eat baby food, but you definitely prefer finger foods at this point. Some favorites are small noodles, watermelon, shredded cheese, peas, carrots, baby puffs, bananas, Cheerios, eggs, pancakes and toast. You still have another three months of formula & then we'll switch you to whole milk.

Reese, you currently have 8 teeth -- 4 on top and 4 on bottom. You're still fitting in your 6-9 month clothes, but we have filled your closet with some 9-12 month stuff because I know the transition is coming soon. Still in size 3 diapers.  You're growing like crazy -- not a bad thing, but a little bittersweet for your mommy!
